5.0 on Google 6 reviews on our Orlando profile 300+ installs in Orlando
When a lane or braking camera looks through your windshield, it is calibrated after the new glass goes in. You get notice in writing first, as Florida law asks, and we do it in the same visit where the procedure can be done on site.

Florida notice rule
You hear about calibration before we start
Since 2023, Florida law (§ 559.920(18)) has required a glass shop to tell you, electronically or in writing in at least 12-point type, whether your driver-assist system needs calibrating as part of the glass job, and the calibration has to meet or exceed the vehicle maker's specifications. We send that notice with your quote, so you know before install day.
The reason is simple. The camera behind the mirror is aimed through one small window in the glass. A new windshield can shift that view by a fraction of a degree, and a fraction of a degree several hundred feet down I-4 is the width of a lane. Calibration resets the camera to straight ahead.
What the camera runs
Features that depend on the windshield
- Lanes
Lane-keep and lane departure
Reads the painted lines, which matters where work zones on I-4 shift them around.
- Braking
Forward collision and auto braking
Watches for sudden stops, like the brake lights that stack up on the 408 at rush hour.
- Cruise
Adaptive cruise
Some cars combine the camera with radar to hold a gap on long toll-road runs.
- Lights
High-beam assist and sign reading
Dims the lights for oncoming cars and reads speed-limit signs.

Where calibration can happen
Check by VIN first
Before booking, we look up whether your car has a forward camera and which procedure its maker sets.
A level spot
Many procedures need flat ground and open space in front of the car. A level driveway or an open part of a parking lot works; a sloped street usually does not.
The camera moves across
The bracket comes on the new glass, and the camera is moved over and seated during the install.
Calibration, then a check
Once the glass is set, the technician runs the procedure your maker specifies and confirms no driver-assist warning is showing.
When it cannot be done there
If your car's procedure needs equipment or a road drive we cannot do where it is parked, the notice with your quote says so.
Calibration is included with the windshield replacement when your vehicle needs it.
Calibration questions around Orlando
Ask about your car on our Orlando line, (407) 305-3829.
How can I tell if my car has a windshield camera?
Stand in front of the car and look behind the rearview mirror. A dark housing with a lens, often with dotted black paint around it on the glass, is the camera. Or text the VIN to (877) 350-5962 and we will check.
My apartment lot is on a slope. Can you still calibrate there?
Maybe not. Many procedures need level ground. Tell us when you book, and we can suggest a flatter part of the lot or another place nearby.
Is it safe to skip calibration?
We do not advise it. A camera that is slightly off may steer or brake at the wrong moment without lighting a warning. We follow the maker's procedure.
Does calibration cost extra?
Calibration is included with the windshield replacement when your vehicle needs it. Your quote covers both.
What if a warning comes on after I drive away?
Call our Orlando line, (407) 305-3829. If it comes from our work, our lifetime workmanship warranty covers it for as long as you own the vehicle.
